“A podium and a prison is each a place, one high and the other low, but in either place your freedom of choice can be maintained if you so wish”
-Epictetus, Discourses. 2.6.25
No matter your upbringing, faults, or current circumstances, no one can ever take away your ability to make choices. No matter what form that may be in. It can be in form of thought or action.
You can choose for your ideas to remain so, or you can execute.
You can choose to live with constant self-deprecating thoughts, or you can let it what others think of you go.
You can choose to be yourself, or you can conform to a mold that is not yours.
Don’t allow your choices to rule you, rule your choices, every choice.
Gaining the ability to make choices predicated off your best interests and what will make you most happy now and in the long term is a muscle strong enough to change your entire life.
You can choose to start that muscle growth now.
